It's not that it's a lousy cable but what it means that they would even pick something that looks like a lamp cable. And what it means that they would include the wrong size tips. Something about it disturbs me to be honest like who would sign off on that ?? Maybe I am looking too deep but something is off with them for doing that

Again Iem is what is most important . Have lots of tips so rip roll to find best. I do not care for time steam myself and have see the SQ improvement with Ares S cable first hand so CA iems are very responsive to tips and cables which is awesome because sound can be customized some to our unique wants. CA is trying to make their iems as affordable as possible at same time best as possible and to appeal to majority of people. They are a small business so there are limits to what they can do and still make a profit. Would you rather have expensive cable and more tips that you may never use and pay a higher price? If I could just order IEm and nothing else for a bit less I would be happy with that.
I enjoyed them with the Ares. I had the orange colored supermoon as well so the copper of the Ares cable went well aesthetically. Wasn't planned, just happened.
Nah, go buy some ivipQ cables from AliExpress. They're my go to campfire brand. I also only do silver/palladium mix, no copper cables for me. Check them out here

I could tell right away that Chris and KB really truly care about their customers which factored into my decision to buy a CA product. Only sold the Bonny as have other sets that are bassy but do not have any planar sets so I bought a SM - arrives tomorrow. If I like SM I will get an Astro as it has great reviews. Like the idea of going in steps before spending over $2k not knowing if I will like planar sound/technicalities. My mmcx conex finally arrived for my Ares S I cable so that was really great timing. Ares S II still MIA.
I’m a little bit divided on which IEM buying as my first cfa. On eBay there’s an Andromeda s and an Ara. Someone here suggested me the Fathom and there’s also the Holocene that kinda interests me.
Decisions, decisions.. any help?
Here are my thoughts on each for whatever thats worth:
Andromeda OG: Timeless. W shaped sound signature that's incredibly pleasing. Magical headstage. Bass is solid but not for bass lovers. A perfect intro to CA IMO. Andromeda S is just a different finish of the OG Andromeda IIRC.
Ara: Incredible technicalities and staging. Best way I can describe the tuning is like reference with a bass boost. Nothing crazy, but it's enough warmth that I wouldn't trust them for reference level work.
Fathom: Basically the current version of the old Andromeda formula. Very similar warm-neutral tuning that is incredibly pleasing, with wonderful technicalities and staging. I would say the Fathoms are a bit more natural and the Andromeda has a bit more sparkle, but it's really close. Basically personal preference separates the two IMO.
Holocene: Reference tuning. Wonderful for some, not great for most. Doesn't have the staging of some of CA's more expensive models. Bass can lack impact and definition at times. Great top end clarity. I would consider the Holocene to be sort of like a lower-tier Moon Rover.

I think it’s interesting that your choices are all BA designs. Have you looked at Ponderosa? For comfort the Chromatic series is great, at least for my ear shape. I demoed Bonneville, and then bought Cascara for a bombastic alternative to Ara and Holocene. Probably makes it harder knowing there isn’t really a bad choice.

The Ponderosa is nice, but I find myself distracted by some of the others ( Fathom and Astrolith ), but it can be had for a much more attractive price.. I guess I need to get them out for some more listening.
I listened to the Ponderosa for an hour or so this morning. Very nice and bright, reasonable bass.
