I'm not saying they stop making iems but a dap would be nice
Honestly, check out the R8ii. Outside of the awful Alcantara backing... might be the best DSP/FPGA dap out there WITH open android (sorry A&K fan boys).

The plug ins are wild for space but you can also leave it vanilla.

You're asking a small company to develop a whole division 🤭 I visited in May and was blown away how small the HQ was and that KB just appeared out his office.

I was interested in the R8ii but it doesn't have a lot of power like ibasso daps 🤷‍♂️

What are you driving though? It can do 300Ohms Senns and LCD-X easy. Not ideal but plenty loud. Way more than enough for IEM's

Hiby isn't exactly in my good graces with their zeta iem being trash, and I have heard all about their faulty batteries 😒
Just wait a month and you will find lots of used DX320s available used. You can take the money you saved and buy all the amp cards. That is what I have done except for 12 and 14.

Just for fun, and to have a power hungry item to compare with…. Buy a KZ PRX planar IEM😅. That one sure is heavy to drive, cheap and not bad sounding. It is the perfect heavy to drive specimen reference point, just as Andromeda 2020 have become the high sensitivity reference! 😄
Something that cheap sounds good?

I'm thinking more about shanlings m9 plus
Love my Dx320. Have the Sony as backup (16.5 hours) Battery last 8 to 10 hours. I want to buy a ten yr anniversary edition. Beautiful looking but same tech inside so can't justify spending that amount of money right now.

Sound is of course up to personal preference and taste, but it certainly isn’t bad! It is different from Supermoon for example. Supermoon have earlier, higher ear/pinna gain, and more highs to my ears, and looks and feels like a million vs PRX. But as a hard to drive reference, PRX is perfect😄. You could say A2020 is super easy, Supermoon is middle, and PRX is hard to drive.

Hiby zeta is 112db and 9 ohms 🤔

OK, but 9 ohms doesn’t mean much when pretty well any IEM is degrees of sensitive and requires single digit microvolts to drive to normal listening levels.

The sensitivity is far more telling and while 112db/mw is somewhat sensitive the Campfire offerings are more sensitive still.

Their sensitivity specs are often misunderstood and don’t offer an easy direct comparison. They are usually rated in microvolts to achieve a certain db level at a certain frequency not a db/mw as is more usual.

Here’s a link to a post I made on a different Campfire thread. I made a table converting the sensitivity @1kHz in mV@94dB to dB@1mW based off the given specs for a bunch of the models.

I’m a little bit divided on which IEM buying as my first cfa. On eBay there’s an Andromeda s and an Ara. Someone here suggested me the Fathom and there’s also the Holocene that kinda interests me.
Decisions, decisions.. any help?
