CAs are well known to be incredibly sensitive and easy to drive... (and easy to pierce your eardrum if you forget to lower the volume when switching from calls to music listening on a mobile
How is SM to drive? From reviews it needs some juice to really shine

Disclose it bro
This is CA's home and not a place to go into details of other companies. I have respect for Chris and KB and others in this thread to go off topic like that.

2020 are pretty good IEMs... depending on preference OG may be better if you like more sparkle.
These andro models are sooooo good
I do not want to buy from that E-Bay seller. Rather buy from classifieds here.

That is because CFA are typically crazy sensitive.

And it isn't a ChiFi or "cheap" thing, it is just a sensitivity thing. It doesn't mean others are crap as you indicated, it simply means they are less sensitive. If they sound good the sensitivity is no problem, if you don't like the sound that is another matter of course.

No IEM I have ever owned needed so little power as the Solaris 2020, including a number of AuR Audio IEM and Sennheiser IE600, not ChiFi.

The Solaris would have been at 35 - 50 mid gain on a FiiO M11 to be quite loud while the IE600 for example would be at 60 - 75 for similar volume.

I prefer the lower sensitivity since the Solaris would pick up noise floor hiss on many amplifiers that were silent with other IEM.

I asked CFA here it the high sensitivity was a design intention or a byproduct of some other design choice, they said it was a byproduct of not using crossovers, it isn't that way for a specific purpose it is a result of other design factors.
Hiby zeta is 112db and 9 ohms 🤔
