Finally listened to the Trifecta as well as the new Astrolith. The trifecta was great although a little too much bass in my opinion, but very nice overall.

I preferred the Astrolith. Still plenty of bass but more toned down and in line with the rest of the frequency range. Just a beautiful sound overall. The one I would pick overall!

Granted the source may not have been ideal (some iBasso dongle which was great but perhaps with an excellent DAP or a nicer DAC/Amp my opinions might have changed).

Sorry I am not a fan of CFA cables, huge fan of CFA but not the cables. Go elsewhere for cables. If you want official cables I’d just suggest eletech or effect audio cables. If you want to save some cheap options ivipq on AliExpress are really good.

Used to be on the same boat, until the Time Stream series of cables rolled out, and in terms of stock cables or reasonably priced upgrade cables they are a winner (SQ, ease of handling, aesthetics, build quality, microphonics etc). On both of my Supermoon and Stellar Horizon, I go back to the Time Streams after experimenting with different cables.

Try the Ares S. Doubted at first but a believer now. If I knew 100% I would keep the Bonny forever, you know it goes with this hobby, I would bin the stock cable. The Ares S beats 64 Audios $200 cable with my Trios.

Nah timesteam still sucks came with the Fathom and they’re super sensitive wasn’t even an adequate cable for them. I switch out all stock cables even switched out pw cable on my UM fabled sounds.

Timestream cable is a cheap POS. Reminds me of the lamp cable sitting on my desk. Incredibly disappointed in it, which seems it’s totally picked as a cost-cutting measure. Went for effect audio cables and haven’t looked back. Cleopatra on the Astro and Ares on the Fathom.

Also I said It once earlier and I’ll say it again: whoever is picking their standard tips has the sizes skewed waaay too small. I almost retuned the Fathom bc I didnt realize their L foam is actually a Medium (or ML?). Glad I remembered I had some spare Comply tips to compare it too. Absolutely ignorant to include the wrong size tips—you’re gonna lose customers! Like selling someone an M3 with all season or winter tires on it. Completely ruins the performance until you swap out tires.

What really is most important are the IEMs themselves. I have to say the Bonny is super comfortable to have in ears for hours. CA has this right. Cable is easy to swap out. Most IEMs come with not ideal cables. That Ares S is special cable so special I ordered the Ares S II direct from Effect as you can't get in US yet. Shipping was not cheap but I want that cable ASAP.

Why is it that CA IEMs are on drop etc? I never see FiR or 64 Audio. Maybe they are having money issues. This market is very tough with all the competition from ChiFI.
I don't think that's it, at all. I don't think they see Chifi as competition at all. They're a completely different user base. Chifi is just constant churn, looking for then next thing, never satisfied. Endless releases of middle of the road YouTube promoted products that disappear as soon as something new comes out.

I think Drop establishes relationships with known brands and offers limited deals based on order size and run. Campfire isn't the only well known brand on there, Sennhieser, Meze, Dan Clark, Bang & Olufsen, HiFiMan. Do you think any of them need money? Actually I think it's the opposite, I think any of the Chifi brands would be honored to be on drop, Like Moondrop. I think it's a sign they've made it big.

Fiio used to sell their chifi on there, but 64 audio from what I have seen hasn't sold their stuff on there for a good while.
