Campfire Audio - Saber

I'm mainly a metal/rock guy - but tested them with acoustic, EDM, symphonic metal etc... bit of everything and they worked well with pretty much everything I threw at them - EDM might not quite have the bass body that some will crave (Mammoth would satisfy those) but it had the timing and groove for it which made them very enjoyable
Sounds fun, thank you.

As an aside: symphonic metal. Not a genre I'm familiar with, but I am mostly a jazz/classical/jamband listener. Sounds cool. Any suggestions? Feel free to PM if preferred.

Are you asking here about bands into symphonic metal? If so, please try Therion, anything from their Vovin or Deggial LPs

Well... I've been listening to our demo Saber for the past couple of days and I'm gonna buy a pair

Don't expect bass canons, or an analytical sound - these are super engaging, snappy, energetic and fun - yes they are occasionally borderline sibilant, yet to me are fatigue free.

@01BXTR you are quite right in saying they share some "grado-like" qualities - maybe that's why I am enjoying them so much.

Same size roughly as the Satsuma/Honeydew so nice and comfortable

Great - a part of me hopes they are more of a Grado Hemp style sounds vs the traditional Grado sound.

I really like the shell of the satsuma, honeydew, vega, and dorado 2020. That's good news they are continuing this form factor.

Mine will be in Monday!

They arrived early. I’ve been listening to them a bit this morning and will over the weekend, too. Thoughts TK.
Remember the DD drivers need time to break-in and the sound will change.

Crinacle has ripped Campfire in general. I am interested in your feedback.
Yeah, it’s pretty clear he doesn’t like their differing sonic signatures. He’s made it pretty clear he’s only really interested in one very specific sound signature, which, while I don’t have an issue with, I think would be terribly boring in a hobby where differences in sound are both what draw me to certain devices and what make the complementary to certain music.

So far -
(Listening through the apple dongle and Apple Music lossless)

Fit is good
They look great
Bon Iver’s baritone is fantastic
Taylor Swift on folklore sounds a little dull. She’s great on this record so it’s not her or the recording.
Sarah McLachan sounds similarly flat

More later.

Oh boy. Not the most promising. Hopefully that’s a limited issue. I feel like way too many iems are rough with female vocals.
