I have the MW10 Andromedas here. I reckon if the new Andromeda is anything like the MW10, then they will be another, true classic. The MW10 is just amazing with jazz, among other things, and it does it without having to be bright like a lot of other designs.

This is the big question, and I totally agree. I have been looking for an MW10 to no avail, but it sounds like the new Andro 2020 will be very similar. Although Jude said in his video that the Ara was a combination of the MW10 and the Andro Gold. So which one is closest to MW10? Clear as mud I am thinking Andro.

How so?

The internal housing: you can see this design philosophy in all the recent Sony IERs (and maybe earlier models too). Less obvious, but I would add the use of improved materials with Titanium (Ti and Zi have similar benefits in IEMs).

The Solaris SE I bought a week ago sounded "ok" to me. I felt it had a lot too much bass and the highs were fatiguing after more than 2 hours as it sounded too harsh. The fact that they had heavy body chambers, they kept wriggling loose in my ears, I couldn't stand them anymore.

CFA recommends at least 150 hour break-in for any of their DD earphones. So don't make a final judgement on the bass until you get there.

I found that they need a good seal to stay in place. Either a good silicon or custom tip.

I should be able to get some side by side photos up for the OG Solaris and the 2020 tomorrow. I may give some sound impressions but hesitate to do so with a new DD. I can certainly comment on fit.
