Hi, I was wondering if I could build some type of portable preamp or some type of XLR adapter that I can plug into my camcorder mic 1/8 jack. I'm planning to use professional xlr microphones with long runs. Phantom power isnt necessary, but it would great if its possible.

Passive or preamp is fine also

The device im trying to build is like the beachtek xlr adapters or the juicedlink products.

Thanks

INA103 and family too (some of them are second source for the SSM parts), there's a schematic in the datasheet. I have a design using this chip that I'm prototyping at the moment.

You could say it's inspired by the Rane MS1b: http://rane.com/pdf/ms1bsch.pdf

If you omit phantom power and use one of these chips the design is pretty straightforward. The power supply is the most difficult part, you could probably run it from dual 9Vs.
