I'm running the current build of Foobar 2000 and have a bit of an annoying issue that I hope someone can help out with.

Once every few minutes, the program will initiate a "Library Update". Sometimes it's very fast (milliseconds), other times it's much longer (a few seconds). However, every time it does this, music stops playing.

I've looked around in the settings and can't seem to find anyway to adjust or turn off this feature.

Any ideas?

Yeah, that's probably what mine says too. I was doing it from memory and hadn't seen in it while because you have to sit there and stare at Foobar and wait for it to show up.

Thanks for the clarification.

Now, let's hear some solutions guys!!

The play count feature by default updates a file when it has played 50%. It brings up a little popup that lasts a fraction of a second, like you describe. If that is what you're seeing, there is no way to prevent it, as far as i know.

oh then i might be able to help.

in my case this popup was caused by (unofficial) playcount component writing metadata into files. see if you use this component - if you do it is strongly recommended you disable it and use Playback Statistics component instead

Playback Statistics component keeps playcount info in the database as opposed to file metadata so it does not cause playback interruptions, etc

Awesome. Thanks for the help guys.

You can also change the setting to update after 100% of the song plays. That may increase the time between songs in some cases though.

Either way, I have no more interuptions during playback.

Thanks again,

Rob
