Does radio broadcast in stereo or is it just 1 channel?

Uh oh, another self-denegrating thread title. For future reference, this is why you should not tell people to call you stupid.

And, yes, radio broadcasts in stereo.

Older AM signals were in mono, but someone recently, about 10-15 years ago, invented AM stereo. The way in which AM is heterodined, mixed with multiple signals to achieve a desired output, made it difficult and expensive to make it stereo. Still not very popular, and I don't know of anyone using them currently.

FM is definitely stereo, has been for many many years.

In most markets, FM will be stereo, except for the low budget/ low power stations, and AM is still mono, even though it is capable of excellent fidelity stereo, as mentioned by ServinginEcuador. Actually, evrything except FM will be in mono, such as shortwave, longwave, etc.
