there any high quality cables for the HD-497?
something equivilant of the so called equinox cables for the 590.

Call Headroom and ask if you can use the same cable on the 497's that they sell for the 600's. I don't have the 497's but they may use the same plug as the 600's. (do your cables unplug from the earcup?)

doesnt appear so, unless the 600's use mini jacks on both ear cups

You might be able to make some...
I working on it right now, but not for the HD-497. It uses the same connections though. However, I need a new soldering iron which is what I'm waiting for right now...
You could use the Canare star quad cable and then just buy plugs. Everything you need can be purchased from markertek...
I'll let you know when I finish mine.
