Just found this neat little invention at the Container Store, but it looks like its available quite a few places online.

The small size works great with my Grado SR80's as well as my AKG K141S's. There's also a micro size that was available at the Container Store that works great with thinner cables like those on the Koss Sportapro and Portapros, etc.
The small ones go for about $6.99 and the larger size (might work well with V6 "telephone cord" style cords) runs about $13.99. The micro size one was $2.99.
Definitely worth the price and they look much nicer than twist ties!
