Noob audio person here...  Need your help...thx...

Just purchased and now setting up the NuForce Icon uDAC 2 and a pair of 'active' M-Audio AV-40 speakers with my desktop PC computer.

I connected uDAC 2 power into usb port on computer. My Grado SR80 headphones plugged into front headphone port on uDAC next to on/off & volume control dial. This worked fine...sound is awesome through headphones.

Now hooking up the speakers. L speaker power cable to outlet. Speaker wire connected to each speaker.

Confusion is here:

L Speaker connectors>
Input-   TRS L and R
Line L and R (RCA ?) red and white
Power on/off
Power connector
Bass boost toggle

NuForce uDAC 2 connectors>
front- on/off and volume dial, and headphone connector

back-
power- to usb on computer-ok
L-white and R-red rca(?) connectors
One orange coax connector

Cable that came with the speakers- At one end- 2 connectors / red-white. At the other end is a small connector...same size as Grado headphone connector.I don't know how to connect this cable...

If I connect the red/white's from the cable to the L speaker 'Line' L and R's, then where does the other end's small connector(1/8?) connect to?

If I reverse that cable, connecting the red/white rca's(?) to the R/L's to the DAC, then the small 1/8 connector from cable has no place to connect on back of speaker... wrong cable, and need adapter? Or, 1/8 cable end connects to headphone connector on front of DAC, which would mean have to switch cable from headphone to speakers every time i wanted to switch...

I'm all messed up here....sorry...

HELP...please

I have extras of those downstairs where my regular stereo system is...don't tell me I actually have the right cables, and don't have to run to a store?

So, it's just 1 cable from R-red on DAC to R-red on Line/speaker/R-red, and another cable from L-white on DAC to Line/speaker/L-white ??

Thx, guys...

Had some good extra rca's...   all set...   sounds great.

As soon as I connect headphones, either to the DAC or the speakers, the speakers shut off... Possible to get a headphones/speakers switch, rather than having to disconnect headphones every time?
