Hey, I'm planning to either the Sony C222ES or the NAD C542. Provided that both came up to be around the same price, which would be a better deal? I don't have any SACDs but the added benefit of SACD capability might be beneficial for the future. I do plan to keep this for a few years before upgrading though. Is the sound quality on the both of them comparable?

Thanks.

I used to own a C541i and now a modded C222ES. C541i sounded a lot better compared to the "unmodded" C222ES. So if you decide to go with the C222ES, you will NEED to mod it. SACDs are phenomenal but if you already have a large CD collection and have a limited buget, then perhaps the NAD is a better option. I didn't have that many CDs at the time so I could buy either format. Now I am spoiled by the 5-disc changer and SACD. I think C222ES is a better option but you have to mod it.
