Does anyone have any suggestions for cheaper places to buy Zunes that ship to Canada? I know Amazon and Ebay, but was curious if there were any other sources. Thanks.

The best choices are probably Ebay or buy/sell forums like the one on head-fi. Amazon.com might not ship the Zune to Canada anyway. They won't ship lots of electronics across the border (especially gear that's not for sale in Canada like the Zune), but won't tell you that until you're at the last step in checkout.

You're probably better off waiting a couple of weeks for the anticipated second gen Zune announcement supposedly due on October 16th anyway. If rumors are to be believed, Microsoft might actually sell the product in other countries this time. And it's supposed to be 80GB for $250 in a slimmer, but otherwise similar body to the current Zune. Could be good, or total crap, but probably best to wait either way.

You just missed the Woot! on Zunes a couple of days ago. I picked one up, but had to have it shipped to a depot across the border, and will have to carry it through customs myself. Good price.

Ditto on what Mik says though, unless you see an amazing deal I'd wait until Zune 2 is released.

Wait for the new Zune.
Considering the patents that have been showing up, it might be worth the wait. And I would assume that this time around, they'll get the CE for international sales.

amazon ships to CAN?

They've shipped every book and CD I've ever tried to get through them. Pretty much everything else (I've tried a few audio and widget orders with no success) is USA-only however, including many, many items that are available in Canada from other vendors. It looks like they just don't want to go to the trouble of getting distribution agreements from their vendors to sell in Canada for much of their inventory outside of their core business.
