So, for the month before I bought my phones, i had been researching for the right ones for me. I went to my local store. They had the igrado (werent of the quality I wanted.) the SR60i (which I was looking at in the beginning until I heard...) SR80i (I liked this the most.) and the SR125i (a little out of my price range.)

So the day came when I was ready to pounce, but they didn't have the SR80i in stock. I debated and after a couple minutes I told them I would wait. They then said: "We can give you a $20 discount) at this point I was ecstatic! Now I could Justify the price difference.

I took my new headphones home and had a first listen with some Lyle Lovett (his Pontiac or Step Inside This House) and I was blown away. I later figured out that the 125i in the store wasn't bent to clamp as tightly on my head, so the improved bass in the 125i wasn't noticed.

My experience with the cans has been awesome. THey have VERY tight bass. at firt I thought the bass was lacking, but after getting used to good headphones without the crappy over-exaggerated bass I think it sounds very good, and barely lacking. Very detailed.

Right now my source is an older Sony Walkman CD player. (model D-SJ301 http://cdn3.ioffer.com/img/item/137/723/453/yV3D.jpg Another option is a Harman/Kardon HK 460i (I have a couple other options, but right now i'm to lazy to list.))

A couple other things: My iPod has now been reduced to a CRAP rating as far as sound goes compared to the CD player. Also, I have heard that bowls make these beastly headphones sound even better.

Overall these phones get a rating of 8.5/10 (not a 9 or 10 because it includes comfies, not bowls)
