I'm going to buy a headset so need some advice.
I have been using several rather cheap headsets/headphone but in the end each model had some flaws and eventually I couldn't repair
them anymore. This time I'm willing to spend more money on a durable and comfortable headset.
I need a headset for gaming, skyping.

I need a headset that meets my requirements(in no particular order):
  1. It doesn't have to have a superior sound. While it might be a plus, I never noticed a difference even on cheap headphones and I don't listen to music anyway.
  2. It should be compact/light and shouldn't press my head because I'm going to wear them most of the time so I could hear when a email arrives or someone messaged me on an Instant Messenger.
  3. It MUST be durable.
  4. Headband shouldn't break easily and the adjustable mechanism shouldn't wear quickly and become loose.
  5. The cord should bend easily. I had a KOSS CS100 which fully satisfied me but it had a bad cord which would rather break than bend.
  6. I prefer open/half-closed headphones not only because I use them in rather quite rooms and need to be aware of surroundings.
  7. I don't care if the headset has a volume/mute control.
  8. I don't want mic to pick up my breath, the noise of my computer and my chair.
  9. I want to be able to put the mic out of the view when I'm not using it.

My budget is about 66$. If you can recommend a good headset that meets my requirements for less price, that go ahead do suggest.
It's unlikely I'm going to spend more than 66$ unless I'm sure I won't be sorry and it will last for a long time.

I'm thinking about buying Logitech Gaming Headset G330.
What do you think? Are there other good choices?

for a decent open air headset, my fave is the razer carcharias. its not small, but very light. has nice sound quality too. 2nd would be a steelsound 4h. also very light, sound leans toward mids and highs.

Razer carcharias is rather rare in my city and it costs around 90$.
I wasn't able place where I could buy Steelsound 4h.

I live in Saint-Petersburg the second biggest city of Russia after Moscow and I generally don't have problems with availability.
I suggest take a look at this pricelist as this shop has the best prices and is known for good quality.

The third column is the price in dollars.
The forth column is the price in rubles.

Razer carcharias is hard to find and it costs about 90$ which is above my budget.
I couldn't find a shop where I can buy a Steelsound 4h so I don't even know how much it costs.
I live in a large city(Saint-Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia after Moscow) and I don't usually have problem with availability.

I suggest to take a look at the pricelist of the shop where I generally buy hardware. They have the best prices in the city and have a good reputation.

You don't have to limit your suggestions to what is available in this shop though.

If this messages goes trough the moderation but not the two previous, it must mean I'm not allowed to show what's is available at my local shops and how much it costs.

Could you name the headsets you've tried thus far and didn't meet your needs? It could help in knowing what not to advice

I've little experience with Headsets though and that doesn't make me of much help to you.

As for messages going through moderation, you're the first I've seen who mentions it and I haven't noticed anything like that on this forum myself. Is there even such filtering/moderation on this forum, say if you are under a certain post count?

I'm new to this forum but it might be also that my post looked like an advertisement with a link to a shop.

I don't remember which headsets/headphones I used but I think I described most(if not all) the problems I had with them. Most of them were rather cheap and turned to be very fragile. I also didn't like some mics as they pick up noises and my breathing so I had to resort to push-to-talk method. That means that mic should have some noise canceling technologies.

The headset I liked the most was KOSS CS100 but its cord would break easily if you bend it too much. But nowdays most headsets have superior specifications so they must top this one in every aspect so I don't think I should buy it again.

I'm going to a buy headset so I'm asking users for advice and suggestions.
I'm giving a link to а price list of my favorite local shop so forum members could see which headsets are available and how much they cost. This will enable forum members to give me suggestion based on availability and pricing at this particular shop.

Third column is the price in dollars.

You don't have to limit yourself to available models since I will look at other shops as well.
