Hello fellow head-fi people!

I have read lots of head-fi posts before and never registered.  Based on many other forum posts/ rec, I got introduced to Sennheiser HD650 and bought them recently. Am very happy about the quality. Thanks to all of you who vouch for its quality at various strings.

Gear I have so far:
1) sennheiser HD650
2) I have also just bought a used sony nwz-zx1.  It should be shipped to me soon.  (no doubt sold by a fellow head-fi member)
3) I have a pair of bose quiet comfort 20 noise cancelling headphones. These are my work headphones, for conference calls, and non intrusive music listening and quiet bubble zone creation. I am not too happy with them these days, they give out a hissing noise, so looking to replace them eventually (I dropped them into water when I was vacationing at Pamukkale, Turkey while listening to Bach.  Slight regrets :)  But when I first got them I was amazed at their noise cancelling capabilities. And also I like travelling with them on the plane due to its small size.

Gear I have tried and returned:
sony 1000x noise cancelling blue tooth headphones. I returned them because I can hear the clicking sound (this is well documented at other forum strings).

Source of music:
I just signed up for TIDAL HIFI, this will be my main source for now.  Prior to this I listen to free classical music stations online. I have some CDs which I burnt, but I am not excited about them these days so rarely listen to them.

A little bit about myself
A little bit unique situation about myself, I am half deaf at birth, I have zero hearing on my left ear, but my right ear have a full range of normal hearing capabilities. Because of this, I am very picky about what I listen, and I only listen to beautiful music (which by my definition is classical - mainly orchestral music and various types of concertos by day; solo and chamber music at night. No operas except the overtures).

I try to invest in good quality gear (HD650, ZX1) to enjoy the music, but not top quality cos I feel like I can only appreciate 50% its value.  I also try to protect my remaining hearing by not listening at top volume.

I am a minimalist.  I try to have as little gear as possible. Because I dream that one day, I will ditch my day job and travel the world, so anything I buy now has to be high quality and either something I can take with me on the road, or sell at a minimal loss.  I am dreaming that I will carry one pair of perfect headphones and my zx1 (or its replacement) with me on the road.

I really like HD650 however I find it impossible to listen to on the bus. So travelling with it is out of question. I like bose in ear noise cancelling for its practical reasons - size, noise cancelling - (but it doesn't give me that goose bump giving hair raising feeling unlike HD650).

Cost isn't that big of a deal because I can just save longer for higher priced items.  And I really have no immediate need for another pair of headphones.  From the zx1 thread lots of people have good things to say about shure SE 846 or fit to go 334, and I am willing to buy one of them if these are the ones that suit me, but I am also looking for additional names/ brands to further my research.  thanks a lot in advance for reading my life story, and please let me know if you have any other headphone models for me to consider :)

Perhaps you'd like a more analytical yet balanced headphone to complement your HD650's. For that, I recommend the Beyerdynamic T90 or T1 (the T90 is like the T1 but costs less). The T90 is a very clear-sounding headphone.
