idk if the $280 price tag from audiocubes/pricejapan is worth it. should i buy now or wait a few weeks for us stores to start selling them and have the price go down, have more pop up on ebay, etc.

also, would any cable guru here be willing to have the d2000 shipped to them, recable them, and ship to me. i would pay up front obviously including shipping costs and cable costs.

thanks

Amazon has Denon now.

EDIT -- as of this edit date:
Amazon has D5000.
-- for D2000, they point you to audiocubes and some other seller.

amazon isnt selling them they just link u to other sellers

i guess my question is will the vast distribution of these phones throughout the US have an impact on the price? will it go any lower than audiocubes current offering?

I don't think so. Dennon's MSRP seems to be higher for the states (or maybe my memory is wrong). Plus, it is rumored that the ear pads will not be leather when they start to sell them in the states. Right now as I understand, they are leather. I got mine in Japan for a steal. It all depends on if you are willing to wait or not. I wasn't willing to

Based on everything I've read, PriceJapan seems to get items out to people a lot faster than Audiocubes (and it seems the wait time for just getting the D2000 shipped at AC is now 5-10 days...).

FOTM is doing its thing

should i go pricejapan or audiocubes

Depends. PriceJapan will probably get it to you a day or two faster, but with AudioCubes you are supporting a Head-Fi sponsor. I went with Audiocubes myself, and got them in four days, but with increasing demand, it may take a little long. Perhaps you should shoot them an email or PM Kohn on the forums and see if they are in stock and shipping right now.
