Hey all. I hope this is in the proper section. My friend recently picked up an EMU ESI-4000, but it has problems that the seller didn't mention.
When he first turned it on and loaded samples, the playback was very grainy, as if the audio was severely degraded. After a few seconds it simply stopped playing through any of the outputs. Now it simply doesn't produce sound at all.
The listed problem with the item was that part of the screen was a bit faded, but still readable. Requested pics verified this.
Does anyone know where he should start as far as getting this fixed? Does EMU still repair 10+ year old products? Is there a repair shop in central/upstate New York you can recommend?
Thanks.
