Voyager has enough juice to power most headphones out there, so I see no resons why not pairing the Susvara with Voyager.

Sandu from soundnews.net was testing Susvara on Voyager and on Conductor GT4 and here are his thoughts: https://soundnews.net/reviews/ampli...n-soloist-voyager-review-per-aspera-ad-astra/ and https://soundnews.net/reviews/sources/dacs/burson-conductor-gt4-review-the-return-of-the-king/.

I was testing Susvara on Soloist GT3 and I had no troubles at all, sound was perfect and Soloist GT3 had lot of power reserve left for even more power hungry cans.

I received the Voyager a few days ago, burning it in now. I'll be using the Conductor 3 GT as the DAC for the Voyager. My Conductor is the single ended version using all Sparkos SS2590 Op Amps.

Initial impressions of the barely new Voyager is that compared to the Conductor 3 GT the stage depth increases substantially, making the sound more holographic with additional layering. The Voyager sounds clearer and leaner (less full), detail goes up a bit, and the bass is substantially improved in both quantity and texture. The bass texture is incredible. The first thing I thought when I heard the Voyager is that there is a bass boost going on somewhere around & under 60hz which adds perceived warmth & body to an otherwise clear and sharp sound. The Conductor on the other hand has a more cohesive sound (less teased apart, more focused), sounds overall warmer, and is more realistic even though it has less stage and detail. The additional warmth and realism of the GT may be solely due to the op amps. If the sound of the Voyager fills in/becomes thicker over time then it should be great. Reading this entire thread I see there are others who experienced the Voyager being sharper or brighter at the start, so we'll see how burning it in changes the sound.

Has anyone tried adding Sparkos SS2590's to the Voyager? I won't be changing the op amps for a few months at the very least, but I'm already wondering if they will even fit.

Very carefully :grimacing: . I could only find one way of getting them in, with very careful bending of the extensions. My GT is the single ended version though-- I don't think it would be possible to get 6 SS2590's into the balanced version

The Voyager should have more space without that Noctua fan in the way, but it's also a different chassis. Not sure if anyone has opened it up to measure how much space is between the board and the top cover.

Hello 🙂

I don't know if you can get any idea from these two pictures of how much space there is in height.

Alex at Burson advised me to try two V7-Classic in the buffer stages,.the other four should be V7-Vivid.
Otherwise I do like you,.I use my Conductor 3XGT as DAC.
It first had V6-Vivid,.I later switched to V7-Classic and even later to V7-Vivid.

Both V7-Classic and V7-Vivid were/are really good,.when using the Conductor 3XGT as a DAC only.

I tried the sparkos as I already had them for my gt3 and they’re not even comparable to the v7

Hi, I just received my Voyager a couple of days ago, and I'm new to op-amp rolling. While looking at the diagram in the Voyager manual, it's not entirely clear where I should install the two V7 Classics you mentioned to try that configuration. Also, do they need to be dual op-amps? I couldn't find any single op-amps in the diagram. My apologies if my question seems too basic.

Thanks!

Hi 🙂...

You should definitely not start changing OP-amps now.
Play and enjoy your new Voyager.

I got my Voyager home in January,.and haven't tried changing any op-amps yet.
It plays great,.and only gets better and better the first 200 hours.
🔸All OP-amps are Dual..!!
In your picture,.it is the two yellow-marked OP-amps that are for the buffer stages.
And as Alex said,.I can try changing from V7-Vivid to V7-Classic,.to test what I think.

As I said,.I haven't done it yet, but will try at some point in the future.
What kind of cables you have from your streamer to your DAC,.and from your DAC to your Voyager is also important for the soundquality.
Try borrowing different ones from your dealer and others to try in your system.

Further ahead...
That you have good power supply's for your DAC and streamer,.and also good power cables make a big difference.
Powercable's in particular make a bigger difference than you think.
There's a lot more to think about,.but I'll stop here for now.
Below are two different powercable's that I am currently trying,.for my Fusion Core that drives my Conductor 3XGT DAC.

Thank you, @Peder 29, for the information about the op-amps and the advice. I used the Black Friday code to purchase my Fusion Core and wanted to add those op-amps to take advantage of the shipping cost already being covered. In my current setup, I am using a Supra Excalibur USB cable between my iFi NEO Stream and the Mscaler/Dave. I've also had positive results using Wireworld Electra 7 power cables with my tube amps. Regarding interconnects, I have found a good balance between resolution and tonality in the Moon Audio Bronze Dragons, which is why I am progressively switching my interconnects to them.

In Soloist 3X Grand Tourer 2023 I found that the best combination of mixing V7 Vivid with V7 Classic is the one from this post: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/bur...lid-state-op-amps.971554/page-3#post-17970369. In Voyager will be the same socket locations.

The fusion Core is sufficient ... It will have the most impact on the sound.
