C3 Ref has about 2.5x more power.

I would say that Playmate 2 has 'enough' power for most headphones.

Cool, i have Playmate 1 and it's been amazing.

Since this thing is still rocking, I won't be upgrading, and until we have some good European support, it's a mess in terms of technical support bringing stuff from Australia, customs and stuff ...

So, super happy with Playmate 1 ...

... but I don't think I'll choose something similar on my next upgrade, whenever this happens.

Sorry, I don't understand what power do you mean? My point was that C3 REF has more powerful headphone amplifier.

I've been looking for an to upgrade to my XDuoo 05 DAC/Amp with burson v5i op amp, and I don't know if this would be the right move. I mean, if I pick up the Burson Playmate 2 with the discount, including 4 burson v6 vivid, which would cost $531. I does look like a pretty good deal and after watching/reading review, evidently it'll sound way better than what I have. But, for that amount of money, could I get something a lot better with even the op amps included?

I'm not usually buying much headfi equipment, my headphones are the shure 1840, including my current XDuoo DAC/Amp. I was also watching the Ifi micro iDSD DAC/Amp. but I have no idea which one would sound better. Or if there's any other one which could be around that price and sound a lot better.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I dont think you could go wrong if you decide to order Playmate 2. Based on my Conductor 3X Performance review the build quality should be excellent, meaning that device is probably gonna last for many, many years. I can't think of any other so well built DAC&AMP combos for such price at the moment.

I dont think you could go wrong if you decide to order Playmate 2. Based on my Conductor 3X Performance review the build quality should be excellent, meaning that device is probably gonna last for many, many years. I can't think of any other so well built DAC&AMP combos for such price at the moment.

Looks like a typo. It should say mW starting at 100ohms.

I thought about a typo too, kinda of mW instead of W for the 100, 150 & 300 Ohms values. But, I actually contacted Burson to double check the specs about the impedance / power values, and they indicated those are the right values:
