OK. I just recently got (yesterday actually) the famous Koss KSC-75's. Man, I love them. They are the best headphones I've had. But I was just wondering if they need to be burned in? Well, maybe 'need' isn't the right word. But does burning them in effect the sound much at all? And if so, in what way? Does the music you burn them in with affect how they will sound when done burning in? Also, how many hours does it take to burn in the KSC-75's? Thanks to anyone that can help, and sorry for the newbie question

I never really noticed much difference... I thought I could detect a difference a one time. But now, after owning 3 pairs I tihnk it was largely psychoacoustics.

Then again I dont use my KSCs for critical listening, as a portable.

As I remember mine took about 20 hours to most dramatically settle in and smooth out. There were probably more changes after the 20 hour mark, but the phones are obviously not refined enough for it to make much of a difference. They're sweet though, enjoy!

I was going to say the same thing. I left them going for 24 hours, after which they definitely smoothened out and became bassier. I left them going for two days after that and didn't notice any significant changes during that time.

Nice avatar, by the way.

Thanks guys. I figured they wouldn't require the 200+ hours of burning that most high-ends do. So far I'm enjoying them very much. It feels/sounds like I have a whole new collection of CD's/12"s. Thanks rhythmicmoose, 'Reinventing Axl Rose' is my favorite album of all-time. I hope to replace the avatar with a picture of some nice headphones, once I get some that are worth showing off
