I read the FAQ and figured im going to do it.
Does it have to be in one session? Or can i like listen to music for 5 hours today, 2 hours tommorrow, none the next, and so on and it all counts towards burn in?

and do canalphones need burn in? this might be a silly question but i figure they have a diaphragm too? albeit tiny?

no, you can burn in at your leisure.

some canal phones need burn in to sound their best like the ex-71, and some dont need it at all like the shure e3c's. Some people say that canal phones like the e3c burn in but i suspect that even if they do burn in its so minimal you cant tell and most of it is psycological.

Thanks for clearing that up, i mean i listen to music all the time...but i just didnt want to have to leave something going for days straight.

Yeah, id tend to agree that any physical changes in the phones that small would be so minimal.

On the other hand, my 12" cadence sub sure sounded miles better after 100s of hours use!

I disagree with that.

Before i came hear and even heard of 'burn-in' i noticed that the sound out of my sub in my car got better as it got older...and right now it sounds awesome! i wouldnt know why, but i'd imagin in that case it would be something to do with the rubber getting softer?

anyways thats what ive found and i cant prove it one way or another.

Any global warming that may be occuring is due to natural causes, not human activity.

I am certainly not convinced.

Does not have to be all in one session.
My e2c midrange boost mellowed out noticeably after 90 hours of intense burn in.

LOL... well said... It amazes me how often in various audio related forums others tell ME what THEY think MY ears are hearing.... and how they are always indisputably right about what IM hearing.

I've had my E3's on a source since Monday and the sound is decidedly better. As of last night, the bass has improved greatly and I can't believe what these phones do for the female voice. Burn in seems pretty real to me but that's *my* reality, YMMV.
