I'm thinking of building a new rig to complement my existing one.
Got a couple of iPod 'classics' so was going to stick with them, using ALAC, and add a DAC / amp - possibly separate but perhaps combined - going to closed cans (must be closed) - possibly Fostex TH900, though I'm open to other suggestions.
The Rig doesn't need to be out-and-about portable, just portable around the house.
I'd like it to offer a counterpoint to my existing set-up but offer a similar or improved level of sound quality.
(iPod classic - HP-P1 - HP-V1 - Pandora FH VI)
I like the Centrance HiFi M8 but it's a bit of a dead end as there's no line-out to add a separate amp.
I look forward to your recommendations and combinations at all price levels.
