Hello,

I`m looking forward to buy some headphones and of course an amp and probably a music player. I was wondering if you can help me a little bit with that . I`m looking for something special , that can offer really good quality , manly use for music ( not a specific type , i like to lessen pretty much everything). I would like something that can cover all the types of music.
My first though was something like this :

Fiio X1
Sennheiser HD 598 (for the accuracy and clarity)
Fiio E10k / Fiio 11k

Also for the x1 i was thinking to get Sennheiser Momentum In -Ear  G , since i can not use the HD 598 at work ...

Now The problem is that HD 598 doesn't work pretty good with the base  and some times i really need some music like that . So i was thinking to get
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro or Audio Technica ATH M50 . But then i realize that there are way to many things and i was wondering if i can get one pear of headphones that can satisfy all my needs , such as high quality when it comes to high-mids but also when it comes to the base part. I would like to use them for movies also , sometimes gaming ( not that much , maybe 1 weekend i feel like playing something )  I want to be able to take them with me at work if possible and also to use them without disturbing everyone. When it comes to design is not really import but i would like to have something that looks nice and some  headphones are extremely comfortable over long listening periods.
Now the only part that has left to talk about is the money , well with a bit of math you can say that i was willing to pay around 1.000 $  for everything. So i would say that is my budget.

Any ideas , I`m looking forward to hear your opinions.
Thank you.

Honestly, if your looking to spend around 1000 on a portable rig

There's a couple way you can go, You can sink a lot of money into your portable player, something like the Hifiman HM 802 [$699] an then spend the last $250 on a set of headphones or vice versa

Knowing what I know now, if I was in your shoes I'd go with the HM 802 an a pair of Sound Magic HP 150 headphones. I had the Previous Model [sounded the same looked different,] An I enjoyed the HP 150, it's comfortable. Looks good, isolates well an have a very even sound. Good bass, highs and mids. The Hifiman Players tender to have a very a dark sound, which means your bass an mids will be some what forward. An with a balanced headphone such as the HP 150, I think Overall you'd enjoy the set

Though another option to go at is, better headphone, less expensive music player. Something like the Mr. Speakers Mad Dogs an Hifiman HM 650 [about $500 for the player an $300 for the headphones]

Ideally, having an amp with your Dap is the best way to go. But for your first rig, if your looking to spend that much I'd keep it simple an just go with a Player an a good headphone, plus the Hifiman Music players have modular Amo Boards, so you could try others if your wanted to get a cleaner sound

Hey
Thank you for your piece of advice,  I took a look last night , looking forward to search for more .

I also find out about Philips Fidelio X2 , do you know anything about them ?

Well , when it comes to money , i don't care that much , i just want top quality for everything that i`m buying , even tho that i have to wait a little bit in order to get , is worth it . So even if it is a little bit more i`m still willing to go as long as i get something good :)

Thank you once again

I've never listened to the X2 so I can't comment on it's sound first hand. People generally like them though I think they are Open Back Headphones, meaning others around you will be able to hear what your listening to

I own the X2 and its the best thing I own south of $500.  It's the only headphone I've paid full price for and have absolutely no complaints for the price paid.  It rivals the HD650 I own in many areas for quite a bit less.  If I was spending your money and looking at the gear I have I would configure a portable system like this:

Sennheiser IE800 - on sale at BuySonic for $530
FiiO X3 gen II - $169 at buysonic and elsewhere
FiiO E12A - $160 or so most places

Total: $860 for Sonic Nirvana

Once again thank you Mshenay
I know ,  same thing as hd 598 . But i would really like to have some open back headphones. I was thinking to get x2 and maybe Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear G or Sennheiser 5.00 for office , gym and so on. Then an amp ( not sure yet fiio e11 /12 or a bit better, not sure ) and fiio x1 and x3 looks really nice to me , I was looking for them for few days and i heard good things .

Also today i`m planning to try x2 . Hopefully that my note 4 will be enough for the test or i should prob ask for a player also.

But once again thank you and i`m keep looking and trying the headphones, kinda hard for me to find the one that you told me too, unfortunately.

Let me start with a big thank you , for your time and suggestion Badfish5446

Based on what I know and find out , x2 are really good and today i`m planning to check them out myself. Also as a amp i E10 , E11 , E12A were my targets so far. And Fiio x1 and x3 too ,also i have to be honest din't know that there is the second gen of x3 , where i was looking i couldn't find it . But once again thank you for that. As i said up there , I think that i`m going for a open back headphones and something decent for work and i might change it in the future , black Friday is also coming . About the Hifiman HM 650 ( really good player , based on what I`ve heard btw i forgot to say that )

The fiio stuff looks really good but I think that i might stick with x2 , hopefully that today i will get my hands on them then i will be 100 % sure about them. But you can be sure that i will check more about Sennhiser IE800 .

As the last thing I also head about this x2 vs hd 650 , I`m not into that to much , i mean jumping from Sound Blaste 3D Rage Wireless, to one of those , wonder if is not to much . Still a "noob " but let`s say that i will like to have a proper start and i`m willing to invest a little bit .

First - you're most welcome

Second - regarding the X3 gen 2, it has a scroll wheel instead of the odd button layout of the X3 1st gen, it can also be used as an external dac and supports DSD.  I never heard an X3 gen 1 but the comments I've read indicate the X3 gen 1 is significantly warmer than the second generation.  I personally still find the Gen 2 to be warm out of the HO and slightly so out of the line out.  This device is what caused the explosion of my IEM stable, didn't realize how good portable audio could be until I bought that X3 Gen2 and combined it with the E12A amp.

Third - If you don't need noise isolation I think you will be really quite happy with the Phillips X2, its super easy to drive for a full sized HP and sounds very natural.  You would have to spend $500 or more to get a "better" headphone in my opinion.  (Standard street price, not sale price)

Well so farm i think that I figure it out. This is what i will buy :

Headphones for home : Philips Fidelio x2
Amp : Fiio E17k
Player : Fiio x1 ( Maybe x3 or x5 II on blackfriday and i will give the x1 as a gift to my little sister )
Headphones for work : Momentum In-ear

My next target will be hd 650 i think or i will go even more . I talk to the people from the shop and my x2 should be here by the end of this month ( can't wait for it )

Also i would like to thank you , to all of you for your suggestion and your time  and also special thanks to  Sediman . Couldn't do it without you guys. I will come back with a feedback as soon as i get my hands on the stuff .

Thank you once again.
