I don't really feel like reviewing a cleaning product but, seeing the increasing number of vinyl guys on head-fi, I thought this product should get a plug. I bought a bottle of the extra strength vinylzyme from TTVJ and its really some amazing stuff.

I have a handfull of pre-owned LPs (Jimi Hendrix, Kenny Rogers, Pink Floyd, Kit Walker, Doors, etc.) that were too staticy/poppy to listen to, even after going through my VPI 16.5 w/ disc doctor cleaning solution and pads, which I didn't have the heart to throw out. After a single application of this stuff, every one of the LPs I'd more or less given up on are playing quietly.

Very, very cool stuff. Kind of expensive (considering how much you get), but its not for every lp, and you don't use as much as other solutions.

Check it out.

I agree Gopher. The Buggtussel stuff cleans much better than the VPI solution that I started with. The majority of my collection is either from used record stores or given to me by my father in law (who purchased them from a used record store), and they play extremely quiet after cleaning. The solution is a bit costly, so I invested $50 in a bottle of the concentrate which yields two gallons of the regular solution and a half gallon of the heavy duty.
