Ha, these things are pretty cool. Basically they are that exact same material and build as those "Chinese Finger Traps" we all played with as kids.
Installing them has a learning curve to be sure. As you put them on, it looks like a Boa Constructor eating its prey.
The Bludsleeves will only work with straight, smaller 3.5mm plugs. Putting them over angled plugs would be quite the challenge, though I am sure it could be done. Also, best to use standard Y cables, J cables don't work as well.
Once on, they do help to reduce tangling. Though it also does make it a little harder to roll them up, as they just want to bounce open. Though, getting them into a earbud case is totally doable.
Another benefit is that they can help to reduce microphonics from those cables prone to displaying noise.
All and all they are a neat product that can be useful. I'm enjoying them.
