broken headphones: what to do?

i had put my headphones (shure e2c) out of reach from my parrot, but apparently dad decided to move my ipod and headphones to the kitchen counter. i walked out to find that the cord has been chewed through and after a quick test no sound comes out

. now i dont know what to do, I dont know if this is covered under warrety or not but i dont have the $$$ to replace them right now so i hope so...

also theres no chance i can DIY it without a recable, is about an inch below the Y.

sorry if this is in the wrong fourm but what should i do?

Contact Shure, if it's not covered under warranty, they might be willing to do a cheap repair for you.
