I am looking for a close over the ear headphone that is bright with its sound.
I liked the sound of the bose qc15 don't need noise cancelling but I did like the sound will I find the same quality with the akg acoustic of the ear headphone? Or would I be better off going with an iem

Heya,

Bright?

Look to an Ultrasone or Beyer maybe (PRO750, DT770).

Very best,

I had the ultrasone pro 750 for around 6 months and can confirm its brightness. It is a great headphone, but comfort became an issue for me during ultra-long gaming sessions (not the headphones' fault, it was my ears disliking the feeling of closed back)

Bright, full-size, closed - Beyerdynamic T70.
But the QC15 aren't bright - are you sure you know what you're asking for?

QC15 are relatively balanced with boosted (but not overly boomy) bass and slightly rolled down treble, mated to a decent soundstage. I can't think of a good analog that lacks ANC - that includes the other Bose headphones. You might try the Denon AH-D2000 or Kenwood KH-K1000 as examples of non-ANC variations on the QC15, but they won't sound exactly the same for a variety of reasons. Something like the T70 or Grado headphones are fairly polar opposites to the QC15's dark/smooth/romantic sound.

The Pro 750 have a bright and balanced sound signature. No comfort issues here, it depends on your head size/shape.
