Impressions are IMO/E and without any burn-in. Also, they are with the E2c as headphone as I recently sold my E4c in anticipation of the E500 I've had on preorder for months coming out soon (*crosses fingers*). Setup is Redwine modded Ipod -> Cyprium One -> Hornet -> E2c.

Wow...I didn't expect anything like what I'm hearing. Night and day? No, but it's a readily noticeable change for the better so far. Everything is more clear, details shine through better, tone sounds more real. Only possible negative is I seem to be missing some bass (quantity)...I'm not sure, though. Coming from the Cardas HPI, the background seems even more black, or perhaps there's just more air or space around notes. It's as if before there was something between the band and me that's now gone. It all comes straight to me.

I'll try to offer further impressions upon burn-in (if such a thing exists for cables) and once I get a proper set of 'phones for use with the cable.

-edit- forgot to mention the packaging...a small detail, but definitely above and beyond here. the cable was packaged ridiculously well. The white drawstring bag inside a small box was a nice touch.

Brief Update: Bass is definitely not missing, now. I don't think I'll ever need another mini-to-mini

Heh. Just read this. If you want to save yourself a nice little bit of change, whatever you do, do NOT listen to the Ag-16. It's ridiculous. It even brought a good bit of bass to my er4p's... ER4P'S! (ER-4S' really... 75ohm switch on my Xin amp).

Hehe... the bass on the Ag-16 IS pretty crazy, but say you're using (like I was) ety's, its nigh upon a perfect match. I've not spent time with any shures as of this moment, so I can't comment there.

The Ag-8 is a nice cable (I really enjoy the mini-RCA I have), but for ety's, I'd take the 16.

Either way, good cables. The Cyprium One is good too (I have a mini RA-straight that I had Wyvern make for me, I really needed that particular cable for my portable setup, and it sounds very good, but I still prefer the 16.)

Hey... i'm sure someone said "Sorry about your wallet" ... you knew what you were getting into

Enjoy!

fierce,

I don't want to add to your wallet woes, but Mexican Dragon is spot on. The AG16 is a bass freak! Adds immensely to its depth and tightness. I have had my AG16 for over a month now with iModded 60gb iPod photo and my goodness when I added the AG16, it just blew me away. Alex does a great job with that cable.

Tempting, huh???

You people are evil.

I love my AG-8; is the AG-16 really that much better? I have a funny feeling I'm going to find out.

Hey... about that first sentence... Kiwi is right... I AM right!

there is also amazing instrument separation with that cable. It really is incredible. And here I was thinking that the Cardas HPI (or whatever it's called, the 6" headroom mini-mini from cardas) was good, and it is, for the money, but I'd take any of the wyvern cables over it. I even had one of the Cyprium One Nano and Micro's to try out, and both of those sounded very good. I loved the nano, especially if your amp and source are bundled together or sit on top of each other, or it works well in a bag. I couldn't give alex exact measurements that I needed, so he made it a little long just in case, but I just put a little bend in the middle of the cable, worked like a charm. Anyways, you're not talking about the C1's, you're talking about the Ag-16... if you want (i'm not going to say "the best", its too cliche, but its the best I've heard personally, and it is VERY good).

I do hear some differences between cables, but this is the cable that really brought out the differences in the music. Even compared to the Ag-8, which is a really good cable in its' on right, but I think the Ag-16 is definately worth the extra cash over the 8... but that's just me.

ComfyCan: yes, yes it is... see above.

I also wrote a review of the line-up awhile back in the cables forum. I have been "borrowing" an Ag-16 and a Cyprium 1 dock/cable to go along with the Ag-8 RCA-mini Alex made for me. All of Alex's cables are exceptional.

ComfyCan,

Go for it!! Maybe we'll take up a collection!!!

I think MexicanDragon would agree that it's worth it. Voltron's review was very convincing....and right in every way, in my opinion. And, yes, Alex is great to work with.
