Ive been out of the above scenes for a little while and need some recommendations. Im interested in hearing everyones favorite dj-sets/producer-albums in each genre but as always, am particularly interested in the darker, techier material.

Some of my faves by genre:

Breaks:
Anything by Prodigy
Chemical Bros-Exit Planet Dust
Most material by Meat Katie

Dubstep:
Benga-Diary of an Afro Warrior
Burial-Untrue(genius album)
Anything by Skream
Youngsta-Dubstep Allstars vol.2 and 4 (blue notez has to be the dopest dubstep track in history)

DNB:
Early Dieselboy; Project Human, Human Resource, A Soldiers Story, System Upgrade (and his countless live sets pre 2000)
DB-10 (a classic)
Goldie-Timeless (another classic)

To be honest, im not up on the new djs in the jungle scene...

Have you ever checked out Plump DJ's? The UK duo have been pumping out solid Breakbeat albums for a decade.

Know them well; their material is a little on the lite side for me and commercial sounding. Lookin for those dark, techy beats.
Even electro influenced breaks would be nice too.

Awesome! Those were the days.
I think there is a revival thing going on somewhere, I may go check it out... it happens Mondays @ Pyramid. Don't think Mr. Slinger will be there though anymore.

If you are looking for a darker sound... be sure to check out DJ? Acucrack.

Broken Note, Untold, Boxcutter/Barry Lynn, Goth Trad...even the new Meat Beat Manifesto is some pretty punishing dubstep!

If you want some extremely crazy jungle-type music check out Xanopticon's 'Silver Key' EP. Brutal.

Also, very cool to see so many electronic-loving New Yorkers on here!!!

I was referring to Autoimmune, which came out at the end of last year.

I had to hear it to believe it.

Bringing this one back from the dead....

Breakbeats: I like what Far Too Loud and Specimen A are doing with the trancy breaks. PYRAMID is also making some sick tracks. Also Drumattic twins Hammer & Tongs albums is a must to hear.

D&B: Ben Sage still pumps out some great tunes. His How the Days Collide albums is another must hear album. I still like anything that Hospital Records puts out.

VENETIAN SNARES,

all or any of (more towards drum & bass jungle idm glitchcore, etc...), my favourites being rossz csillag alatt született (orchestral breaks) & detrimentalist (junglist),

or future loop foundation, conditions for living (d&b, with lots of double bass
regular_smile .gif
)

quite like PMT & koma & bones aswell.

Love that this thread has been revived, but am still looking for dark, techy breaks-and cant seem to find them or, get a reco for them anywhere.

Found a couple of (im guessing Swedish?) producers who have produced some sick tracks here (Rom Stomper by Zenith Spot is kinda what im looking for):

Zenith Spot
