Hey guys, I'm new here. Just got a pair of Sony MDR-7506's and I do like them quite a bit; better than my Bose OE1's, volume is louder, no distortion at the high volumes, etc. However, I have an issue and was wondering if anyone here has experienced this too. On some songs, like Norah Jones "Sunrise", I hear a vibration in my left ear. When I put the Bose headphones on I don't hear it. Any idea what could be causing this? Or have any of you experienced this? I am planning on exchanging them and giving them one last try. If second pair has same issue I am switching to M50's.

Better headphones are more revealing of poor recordings, and while I don't have that particular Norah Jones track, I can tell you that I have experienced similar results on some of Liquid Tension Experiment's songs.  I've made a post years ago just like this one because I thought my headphones were broken (lol!).....However, over the years as my setup grows, I hear it more and more.

That's one option.

Another option could be "Grattle" . . . if you're not familiar with this it is where a hair gets stuck between the earpad and the driver, and certain frequencies will cause this vibration.  Look for this, too.......

You think the M50's would have a similar effect? I am surprised nobody talks about this more in these forums. Couldn't find a single thread with a similar issue, other than mine of course :)

No experience with the M50s, though I've thought about picking them up as my bass can.  Didn't like DT770, so was thinking about giving them a try....though, Head-Fi users seemed to talk me out of them.  Seems to be the general theme lately. . .
