So I read around these forums for a couple days, and after a lot of back and forth decided to go with the BA200. They came in this morning, but I'm not crazy about them. The sound seems kind of empty, and there's no discernible bass. Don't get me wrong, they sound clear and nice but they just aren't doing it for me. The other pair I was on the fence about were the GR07. Should I go for those, or another pair entirely?

Both are on the balanced to analytical sound signature, if i recall correctly. You might be after something else entirely.

First thing i'd check is to verify that you're getting a good fit with the BA200 before you do anything else.
If you are getting a good seal, you might want to stick with them for a bit.

Thanks for replying, and sorry for posting this in the wrong section.

I see though, if that's true then Idk what I'm looking for ha. I remember a couple years ago I had Bose ie2 and I remember I liked how those sounded.

I'm fairly sure I'm getting a good seal, I switched to the smaller tips and they fit comfortably.

Like I said they sound good, but at the same time something just seems lacking.

Hmm,

Well if you want to give it another shot, i'd post here, and someone can help you figure out what sound signature you would like based on your music preferences, and budget.

If you want to do a bit of reading yourself, check this out.

I know exactly what you mean. I just find them boring. Not enough bass, not enough treble, mids are just kind of "there". When I can't determine if I like or hate a piece of music because the sound is too smooth, that is when I know it is time to move on. I had some issues with the treble on my B2's, but I was pleading for it after an hour with the BA-200's.

Needless to say, I'm listing mine for sale soon.

About the only thing good I can say about them is their fit was perfect and they weren't too expensive.

Mine reach down deep. I put on some Total Recall soundtrack (2012) with its LFE and hear just about all of it. Very engaging overall. Using included dual flange. iPod classic through a Leckerton amp; (I forget the optional op-amp I installed into it. )

Back down the rabbit hole I go..lol. I'll check out joker's reviews for the 100-150 range; admittedly I didn't delve too deep in there. If all else fails I'll pop into that other section and see if I can get more specific help. Thanks for the help.

Well glad that I'm not alone on this one - I read many positive things about the BA200 but like you they just don't do it for me. Pretty much positive I'll be sending them back to amazon in the next few days.

Maybe with an amp the BA200 might be better, but I don't want to deal with buying an amp just to get them to sound good. Also, I use Rdio for my music so I can't use my phone's EQ settings.

It's like we have two different pairs. Try the Sesaphonics test for seal. I found that to be an eye opener when dissatisfied with an IEM.

I think I found a sweet spot with these. I tried pushing in deep and no good. Less fuss and bingo. I also noticed my seal improved as the ear heated the tip. Like it conformed better after a while.

Okay, so after I posted this yesterday, I got off work and went home and swappe out the small tips I had on with the larger pair. Pushed them in a little more and now I can hear the bass, and overall things do sound improved (dnullify called that one)

So now, things are okay but they still don't blow me away. Going through joker's IEM 100-150 range reviews made my head spin ha. Still undecided what I'm going to do.

Good to hear. I'd say give them a few more days and see if you grow to like them before buying something else.

Are you looking for more bass specifically? More treble, instrument separation?

More bass would be nice; I don't want a big wallop but I do like to hear the bump. The BA200 seem to be fine in terms of treble/separation..Maybe it's just the lackluster bass bothering me. Well, that and the lack of a mic/play controls is surprisingly bothersome.

Overall, having spent more time with them they have grown on me, but I can't help but feel like there's something better. Don't mind hanging on to them for a few days but I'm not 100% on Amazon's return policy.
