I picked up two black Zune 30s a few months ago when Woot was blowing them out. I gave one one to my middle school aged son. He took it to school one day and someone stole it.

He had some friends over for a slumber party last Friday and one of the little punks stole the other one (mine) along with the K81DJs that were plugged into it. These things are to young teens what crack is to a crack head.

I feel your pain, bro. My Sony Ericsson w810i cell phone got ripped from me over the weekend.

I'm sorry for your losses :/
Now I don't know how old the kids are, but could you call around to their parents and check maybe?

I'm considering that option. BTW, this is a low crime, semi-rural area where most people don't even lock their doors.

My bro stole my iPod for 3 months - went and got a new one - only to find it in his backpack later. *he suffered*

My brothers have had friends over and one of them stole my dad's backup HDD (making us lose a lot of our past photos) and liquor from the bar (hard stuff). Teenage boys are ridiculous and my high school bro watches people and none of them seem like bad kids.

It just what that kind of stuff is to people with all the wants and none of the means.

With "friends" like these, who needs enemies?

My son handled it. I get my rig back tomorrow and the twerp's parents don't get a call. How cool is that? Now if we could only get his back.

Not cool, atleast in my opinion. He was generously invited into your house, he turned around and stole from you. The kid needs to be taught a lesson. In your position, I would be damn well inclined to give the child's parents a call, so that they know about the incident and will (hopefully) go forth and punish him.

Yeah, that is not ok.

After those twirps drank the liquor (while my brother was unstairs making them dinner), those kids were never allowed in our house again and the parents got a call.

I guess my sons friends know I'm a crazy four letter word that beings with a "F" when it comes to my stuff, They never touch anything of mine when they come over. I have left my Ipods and Zune hell even my touch on the coffee table when they are here and they never touched them.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same kid who stole the first one. Maybe he sold the first one. I try to remember to put a special mark on all of my stuff, even if it's just a straight line with a marker.

I have to agree with Amblin, you're being too easy on this kid, you should get his parents involved. It's great that you're getting it back, but he still "got away" with it by not being punished.

eh i think thats kind of harsh no?? i wouldnt mind people testing out my stuff when they come over, as long as they are responsible with it.
