This is the official thread for 2007 Summer Boston/N.E. Meet (Okay, so technically, it's in Marlborough).
When:
Sunday, August 26th, 12pm - 7pm
Where:
Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center
181 Boston Post Road W
Marlborough, MA 01752-1840
We are in the Princess Ballroom.
Map, weather, and direction to the Hotel.
There is a sports bar for *beverages* and pub-grub, and bathrooms in close proximity to the conference room.
Overnight accommodations on premises
For stays at the Best Western, we are again being offered the corporate rate of $89.00 per night for Saturday and/or Sunday night. Very convenient for you travelers with tons of gear; you can use a bellman cart to move your gear from room to room.
When you call to make your reservation, indicate that you are with the Head-Fi group, and confirm that you are getting this rate.
Rooms go fast, so please make these arrangements as soon as possible. Dave (drp) wants to give them a final room count in the first few days of August so please PM Dave (drp) if you plan to stay on property. Also PM if you get a different rate so Dave (drp) can call and resolve.
Meet Setup Team:
- Dave (drp) will handle the accommodations. He's the official Holder of the Meet.
- Nate (n_maher) will be the contact for manufactures and managing equipment sent in from manufacturers. If a vendor wishes to send equipment due to not being able to attend, please contact Nate. If manufacturers would prefer to contact him via phone please drop him a PM.
- I/Haj (Salt Peanuts) will be updating this thread. I will continue to send out the official announcements and update the official post as needed. If you plan to attend the meet, please either post in this thread or PM me and I will update the attendee list as needed.
[size=medium]- Yikes will be running the Silent Auction, so if you things you can/want to donate, please bring them. Audio or computer related items are a plus, and this time absolutely NO Limburger Cheese![/size]
Bring whatever equipment you'd like, but do not feel as you must bring equipment to participate. You can PM me (Salt Peanuts) or indicate in the official thread what gear you plan to bring and I’ll update the thread.
Funding for the event is contributions-based, so please give generously. Give at the door, during any passing of the hat, or both. We should have a lock box for this purpose. However, if you spent all your money just getting to the event, don't worry, come anyway and enjoy. But if you can, please contribute to the cause.
There should be name tags ("Hello My Name Is" stickers) at or near the entrance of the room along with few markers. Please take one and put your name on it (having both your Head-Fi handle and real name would be most useful).
As usual we'll need power strips and extension cords. Bring'em if you got'em.
