In the interest of public service (and revenge of course). I think that all members of head-fi who have owned the BOSE Triport headphones should post their impressions on amazon.com in the form of a review. I have done so already and because of the small number of accumulated reviews, I think that my and others' posts have significantly reduced the triport's rating (it is currently 3/5).

In fairness, I am advocating that you do this only if you have actually owned these headphones. Let's try to make a difference. It also helps that Amazon.com happens to sell Senn, Grado, AKG, Shure, Ety, all sorts of Sony, and even Beyerdynamic 990.

I've owned other Bose equipment, but no Bose headphones. I do plan on posting my thoughts about that stuff on Amazon sometime though, although I've already done it on epinions and audioreview.

If you know someone with some Triports they can let me borrow, I'm sure I can whip up an honest scathing report if you like

What might be very enlightening is to provide the web address for head-fi in the reviews at Amazon. It will allow consumers to get much more feedback on Bose, and also might recruit some good new head-fiers.

There are some funny (sad) quotes there.

Wow, I must find every other article by this Peter Svensson guy, so that I can get the straight story for once

I don't think you have to actually own Triports to be able to offer an honest opinion.

Anyone who has taken the time to do a fair listen should be capable of writing a fair and unbiased review (which is more than I can say for most of the reviews I've read on Amazon).

...but mine broke after just 10 minutes of use...

Maybe Bose should put some effort into the quality of construction...

In a way i am glad they broke, since I replaced them with the Grado SR60s and am very pleased with how they make my iPod sound.
