Bose Quietcomfort 2

I'm gonna get the Shure E4's by the end of the month, or close to my birthday,
because my parents think sound and headphones are a good hobby, so they think I should go for the $200 bucks on the Shure's. My friend thinks insane to spend $200 on tiny little canalphones.

Anyhoo...I'll compare the Shures to my friends QC2 when I get them.

You want to talk about bad Noise Cancelling earphones... MDR-NC11 from Sony

So basicly he's saying they sound better than something he's never heard? thats just stupid. Kind of like my buddy who just bought triports and says they will make my sr-60's sound like crap not to mention my little E3c's. He concedes that the HD600's will probably sound as good if not slightly better. He's convinced himself he has made a wise choice without comparison. I am going to bring him to the florida meet to open his eyes if hearing my grado's with my X-Cans dosent do anything for him.

Yep... You pretty much said it, and I got feedback from my PX200 that I let him listen to, and He does admit the Bass is controlled and he heard the "middle sounds" that he didn't hear out of the Triports.

Now He brags...and brags... and brags... that nothing holds a candle to his QC2's, I'll just have to hear it for myself.

Or not hear it as the case may be. Be sure to let us know what you think (be honest). I will find it hard with my buddys triports as my brain has been stuffed with anti-triport info.

very true, from being here, you get a very negative feeling about BOSE, nad it's not that they are terrible, it's just the price you pay for it

When I heard the Triports, I thought they sounded fine, if they cost $50 Dollars,
which is What I paid for my PX200's. Bose just really needs to improve their design and technology that goes into it to please my ears. My comments were before I read all the negative comments on the triports.

I imagine the QC2 sound a little better, but the price comes from the Expensive Noise Cancelling circuitry, I still haven't heard them, but I just ignore the negative comments and take in my own opinion.

I own a Pair of QC2's and am very pleased. They were designed with a specific purpose in mind & I feel they hit their mark. Also own a pair of Grado's & Sennheiser's which I use for home. People have seemed to jump on the Bose Bashing Wagon...which is ok...each to their own. My ears may not be as "in tune" as others...

I've just got QC2 from HongKong trip and very happy with the sound. I do not understand why so many people wrote bad reveiw on QC2. Yes the bass seem to be bit too much in quiet enviroment, but it is just about right in noisy enviroment. I compared QC2 with my HD 650 (with Cardas Cable) via Prehead MKII SE, yes HD 650 was very clean and detail, QC2 midrange was not so great compared to HD 650, but really I could listen to the whole 3 discs Carmen without any stress or tired feeling. Then, I switched the first 2 tone control switches on Prehead MKII to lower position ( to tune the lower bass down a bit) now, the sound was very similar to HD 650 clean and open.
When compared with Ety's 4Ps, in noisy enviroment you will not hear any bass from Ety's, QC2 gives a good nice balance sound. LOVE THEM.

I dont think everyone thinks they are crap, just more or less that you can get much better for the money? How much did you spend on them and then look at whats available in that range. Usually they dont come up as a recommended can because of their price/performance point more than quality or sound.

QC2 aren't that bad, it's just the signature of Bose to emphasize the bass, which kind of bother me, I prefer tight, articulate Bass. I'd buy a Bose if they weren't so expensive and they had a balance of sound. Maybe with a little EQ'ing, but the Active noise cancelling doesn't appeal to me, I'd problably hear a GSM phone nearby.
