I have been looking for a new pair of headphones. I listin to mainly heavy metal and jazz. But i have a friend who bought a pair of Bose TriForce headphones. And apparently there really awsom. After reading tonnes of reviews i have narrowed down Grado seem to be the best. But my question is, Why is there almost no reviews of bose headphones? Are they worth the money? I am willing to pay the money for them if they are. But if they are not i will just buy something else. Any sugestions?

You're going to have to get to the TriForce headphones before Link does, or it's a savior to Hyrule and no headphones for you.

Do yourself a favor and buy something else. Sennheiser HD580, Grado SR-80, Grado MS-1, Audio-Technica A900, AKG K501, all of these are miles above Bose. Bose sound equipment is awful, catagorically and without exception.

What kind of music do you listen to and what source will you be using and what is your budget?

Welcome to headfi and sorry about your wallet.

P.S. Since no one else has said it yet BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment

You mean the Bose TriPort headphones?

Well, they are NOT worth even one-third of their asking price. In fact, they are barely worth even one-tenth of that same asking price: They cost $150 at retail - but they sound worse than several $20 (that's right; $20, not $200) headphones. They sound incoherent, muddy, honky, tinny and echoey all at the same time (and yes, I have listened quite extensively to them).

i found a triforce review and it shed some good light. I need something with really good bass and mid. And i want extreeem comfort. Dose that narrow it down a bit?
I listin to mainly metal. All kinds of it. And jazz. My price range is basicly anything to around 250-300 (if im paying that much for headphones they better be fricken good)

edit:dam iv been calling them triforce? lol im an idiot.

About a month ago, I took another listen to the Bose Triports after listening to my Beyerdynamic DT-770's almost exclusively for about 7 months. Before this period, I thought they were decent sounding. Upon listening to them again, I was absolutely appalled at how bad they sounded. This is not in audio finicky subjectiveness, they sounded downright horrible, to the point where I rapidly scrolled through songs to see if it was a crappy rendition. But every song sounded the worst I have ever heard.

Moral is, don't buy the advertising, listen to experienced people around here who know well more than they reasonably should about this stuff

and listen around before committing to anything.

Those TriPort headphones deliver practically no midrange response. And what bass they deliver is of poor quality - muddy and lifeless.

Though this may be out of your price range, for bass and comfort (though at expense of the mids), the DT-770/80's are really hard to beat. They are easily some of the most comfortable phones out there and they will rattle your eardrums with their bass.

They cost about $200ish new, though you can expect to knock a good bit off if you are willing to buy used.

He'd probably be better off with the Audio Technica A900 (no amp needed) and they are closed so can be used in quite or noisy environments. A pretty good all arounder.
