borbely preamp

Oops, they recommend their unregulated power supply, since the preamp has voltage regulators built in.
Still, it would be close to $350 with 10% discount including the PS shipped. You would need a case and some other minor parts, but that stuff is easy.

I was about to post as well that it already has voltage regulators built in. Also, the Welborne PS-1, as far as I know, is just a standard regulated power supply and has nothing to do with Jung.

From Welborne's PS1 description:

This power supply is similar to the one designed by Walt Jung and Gary Galo and published in TAA and uses the Linear Technologies LT1085CT/LT1033CT voltage regulators.

I built a Borbely headphone amp 3 weeks ago, not using a kit.
Now I use one power supply, but I will use dual PS.

It sounds great!! I guess it's better than Gilmore amp,
but it's just my opinion.
Frankly speaking, I don't know how to describe its sound
in English. Because I'm not English speaker
biggrin.gif

Anyway I recommend this amp for you.

Thanks . This is first post for me.

Thank you puppyslugg, Sovkiller

I've built CMOY,Szkeres,META42, Gilmore and etc..
In my experience, Borbely is best for me.
Of cource, I didn't use good quality parts in the amps except the Borbely amp. But Borbely amp has potential ability with better
headphones (I use HP910)
META42 and Gilmore are good, too.

I'd like to see more Borbely amps you build.
Feel free to advice me about this amp.
