See here. Jumps in price from $30 to $80. Saw it at Macworld. Didn't have decent phones with me and they couldn't answer my questions, but I'm curious if it's much better than their namesake. Basically the demo compared it to the older amp. Here's iPod. Here's Boosteroo [louder]. Here's Revolution [even louder].

But it's white so it'll sell like hotcakes, I'm sure.
In reading Bangraman's tests on the iPod line out and so forth, there's no real difference between the line-out and headphoen out on the iPod. The only difference is in volume matching. So using it out of the headphone out with a potless amp probably isn't going to hurt sound quality. =P
Considering making my little CMoy potless, because I'm sure the iPod's digital attenuator is better than a pana evj.

I just tested this with my sensaphonics and the SR-71 and there is a big difference. Turn the volume to 100% or even two clicks away produce much worse sound than the line out through the amp. The bass is deeper and more refined with the line out, everything is cleaner, and the range is more dynamic. So in my test, there is a big difference.
Puhhhhhleeeeeeeeze. $15 bucks more and you've got a Shellbrook Super Mini Moy (can't buy a Headsave any more...) or a bit more and it's a Portaphile Mini. Like they say, you can sell banana skins ... etc. After having been taunted/tempted by Jim last August (?) I bought a $22 Ratshack booster for the fun of it ... but that's the limit -- $80 bucks of louder ain't my idea of fun.
