is usb actually vastly superior to Bluetooth for streaming audio ?
I think it is much better but might depend on what you’re listening to it from. Using the iPhone dongle and listening to Tidal HiFi from a fairly cheap KZ ZST’s have to say is better than going AirPlay to my HiBy R3 and the same song ripped from CD on the R3 is pretty much the same as the Tidal version. I also have a ultra cheap Brookstone Big Blue Bluetooth amp ($15) and while it has a lot of power still I hear the same artifacts that I hear from the AirPlay. The question was “Is USB vastly superior to Bluetooth for Streaming audio” I think it is but vastly might be too strong. Better Codecs will definitely be better and could be happy listening to my R3 via AirPlay but is it better straight out of the phone or from a cd rip yes or just threw it on a Dragonfly Red so much more yes.is usb actually vastly superior to Bluetooth for streaming audio ?
Which usb sounds horrible? It honestly depends on the implementation of both. Some USB outlets sound terrible, and some bluetooth codecs (eg LDAC) are audibly transparent and virtually lossless.
In most cases it'll come down to a factor of convenience, as it has for me.
