Blues queen Koko Taylor dead at age 80

I'm embarassed to say I'd not heard of her to my recollection... I have heard 'Wang Dang Doodle' but so long ago I don't remember if it was Koko Taylor or a cover (there were lots IIRC). I'll look up her work.

Two great actors and koko as well!?

That's really sad news. She had such great presence as a performer, and what a voice! She left an impressive body of work behind, which is worth checking out if you have not yet done so.

Bummer. I saw her 3-4 times in '89, '90 '91 (IIRC). Incredible performer.
