I recently bought a pair of Bluedio UFO Plus Bluetooth headphones from my local CEX store secondhand and I find the audio quality terrible.

There is plenty of good thumping deep bass but the mids and highs sound recessed, cold, harsh and artificial and sound like cheap headphones from Poundland or an old AM radio compared to the excellent audio on my Sony MDR-1000X and AKG Y50BT Bluetooth headphones which sound much better than the Bluedio UFO Plus headphones.

I am very disappointed considering most reviews I have read about the Bluedio UFO Plus headphones are positive and state they have great sound quality. This has got me thinking whether I have bought a pair that are fake.

I’ve just checked on the Bluedio website using the product verification code on the box and according to Bluedio they are genuine. So they either don’t work properly or the sound quality isn’t to my taste.

Yeah, unless good sound quality means excessive amounts of bass at the cost of everything else for someone i would recommend to stay away from their products. For vast majority of people they are probably more than enough though.

Yeah, I would also stay away from headphones that are bass heavy, especially those in the $100 mark.
There are very few headphones that can give you deep bass without losing much else, but these typically start in the $500-1000+ price range (Fostex TH900's, He-500's, ETC...)

There are other cheaper options out there, that arguably have more bass than even the TH900's, but they overdo the bass so much that you lose out on the detail.

It's easy to get lots of bass on a headphone, but it's very hard to find the perfect amount.

Looks like something more at home in Six Flags than a headphone

Thanks for the replies.

I thought I would give the Bluedio UFO Plus a second try. This time I switched off Bluetooth and connected the supplied cable into the headphone jack and the sound quality is a lot better. The mids and highs seems to sound a lot more pleasing and less harsh sounding and the bass isn’t as heavily emphasised. The sound only deteriorates when using Bluetooth.
