Blon in ear monitors impressions thread

I don't wanna risk flashing with the BHD firmware yet, especially since I just bought them lol. The volume output isn't much of an inconvenience to me so far. I do agree about the bass though, the DAC made the boominess more obvious to me. Makes me wonder what my next upgrade should be, like if the Mele would be a sidegrade for a mesh-modded Blon or they'd still be worth it, or go for something different like the Aria or Starfields, or go even further for the Hana 2021 or Oxygen.

I bought 2 sonata HD Pro. One is using latest 3.0 firmware from here: http://www.tempotec.com.cn/en/3-Support/index.htm

The other set, I flashed to BHD firmware. Flash it at your own risk though, the BHD firmware seems irreversible, I haven't managed to flash it back to stock config despite a few attempts. But the BHD firmware has around double the power and volume cap of the original HD Pro. It does get a bit warmer and use up more battery, but that's the price to pay haha.

U can try buying a $1 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm jack to put it on the HD Pro. It tricks the HD Pro to unlock at max 2V output all the time, otherwise by default the HD Pro adjusts the volume output according to the impedance of the attached IEM.

The BLON BL-03's bass definitely tightens with amping, but it is still a boomy midbass that isn't fast. That's a limitation of the BL-03 I suppose.
ah I see! Thanks for the info and correction! Man, I did a quick search and found where I read that it was reversible, and seems like it's not the case. Should have researched more on my part. For me I had no regrets flashing my JM10 despite knowing it's for sure not reversible since the adaptive output was just too annoying to deal with for me. Will gladly take the higher power draw and slightly warmer operating temp in exchange. :joy: But yeah, even though I like the BL03 more with more power, I still like the Tanya more when I give it more power. Also good to know that the old trick for LG quad DAC devices seems to work on these devices too!

These IEMs appear huge, just see BLON's own model parading them:

They look like they will be a poor fit but the price is a little cheaper than I expected.
Why d'you reckon they'd be a poor fit? From the photo BL-MAX nozzle looks longer than the BL-03, which I could never get to sit properly in my ears on account of their very short nozzle...

I think from where the nozzle is on the shell. The BL01 also has it in an odd place.
I presume it won't be long till we see some real images and actual use from people.
There is an image of a promo girl wearing it and it looks like a tall shell.

Oh my. If that huge chamber brings some sound advantages I'm in. Hoping it's a BL-03 bigger brother, not a V and disappointing Prometheus
