Help! I have my MP3s with the cover art embedded as a tag. When I view the tag the album art is nice and big and high res but when I transfer to my Kenwood the quality drops considerably and the displayed art is blurred and blocky?

Does the media app resize the album art? Anyone come accross this?

I've had mixed results with the kenwood player and embedded art. Sometimes it won't display it at all and other times it will regardless of how I transfer it over. Some have a lot of artifacts when displayed on the kenwood screen and others are perfectly fine. I think a smaller album art usually helps like 300x300 in my experience.

It seems that when the media application transfers to the player it is resizing the album art that is embedded in the MP3. If I edit the MP3 in the media app AFTER it has transferred and refresh the embedded cover using the cover.jpg I have stored externally of the MP3 (same size as the embedded image) it displays correctly and you can see it change in the media app.

So in summary(!) it would appear the Media App is frustratingly resizing the damn album art!!

I've got to the bottom of this. Windows Media Player 11 auto creates two hidden, system files...

AlbumArtSmall.jpg
Folder.jpg

The Kenwood Media Application completely ignores any high res images you have tagged in your MP3's and uses the AlbumArtSmall.jpg as the cover art!

Simply unhide hidden files, show system files and search your library for the two files above, then delete them! Voila!
