A few days ago I received 10' of Black Dragon for my HD650.

The cable produced odd hiccups at first, making everything sound awful, but that seems to have gone the way of the dodo as of today. Must've been something going on with my source, which happens to be an Audigy 2 right now. (I know, I know.)

Anyhow, I have no complaints about the cable except for its stiffness. For example, when coiling it, the cylinder I'm coiling it around causes the cable to twist so that I end up with the jacks backwards, and need to again twist them around to plug them into the 650 correctly.. Thereby unwinding the coil.

Is there any way to alleviate the stiffness of the cable?

Performance comes at a price. A stiffer than stock cable is it. Nothing can be done about, sorry to say. The Silver and Blue Dragon are less stiff. As for the noise, computers are noisy animals. Make sure the cord is not laying near any of the other computer cabling or the computer power supply or a battery backup/surge protector. This particular cable is not shielded, but the geometry will ward off most noise. This cable sounded much better without a shield so we left it off. As well a shield would have made it further stiffer. Enjoy the cable and let me know if I can be of further help.

How big is the diameter of the cylinder you're coiling the cable around? I don't wind my Black Dragon around anything, but it seems to naturally coil itself into circles about 6 to 8 inches in diameter. I suspect that coiling it around anything smaller is not good for the cable.

Is BD internally shielded to reduce the crosstalk at least?
