This is only my second post here, I've been doing a lot of reading, however. Thanks to you guys, I went from CX300s to AKG K701 and Audeo PFE headphones.

Although I love the PFE, I'm ready to move up the ladder. I've wanted the IE8s for long time(ever since they came out), but wanted to buy from an authorized dealer. Well, today I found a pair from an authorized dealer (check Sennheiser's list) for $279 and free shipping. I also used Bing cashback for another 8% off

I cannot wait! This is a Christmas present to myself, and I'm fortunate enough to have some extra cash. Someday I'm sure I will move up to something like the JH-13s, but I hope the IE8s will keep me happy for years!

P.S. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing the PFEs too. Thanks.

Congratulations. IE8 is indeed a better IEM than PFE, but it's sound signature is very different - much bassier. Hope you will like them.

Congrats on your purchase.
Please spend time to achieve burn-in.
Results are going to be astounding =)

I hope you enjoy them. Give them time, as they really do reveal their full signature after a good 200+ hours. But no doubt about it, it's an enjoyable ride getting there.

May I ask which authorized dealer? Thanks!

Just got mine a few days ago and I have to say
AWESOME!!!! Best iems I've ever owned (had se530 and others)

Good bass, very very smooth, and good space. I feel good indeed when I'm listening to them.

Woohoo! They arrived today!
Well...if I had not read about the burn-in effect, I would be scared!
The sound is muddy, the bass is loose and a little overwhelming.
HOWEVER (and I have now been listening to them for 10 minutes), I think I really like the sound signature!
I will come back a bit later to update my first feelings

I didn't like how they sounded out of the box. I turned the bass dial all the way to the lowest position, burned them in, and listened to them periodically during the process. The bass tightened up considerably. I'm still amazed by the soundstage. It always makes the listening experience more enjoyable.

I just went to the IE8s from E500s. When I first heard them I had the exact same reaction. They sounded so muffled, like if you threw a wet blanket over a set of speakers. I always took the burning in thing with a grain of salt but trust me, it will definitely make a difference with these. A friend listed to them when I first got them and then after I had ~50 hours on them and confirmed they had improved quite a bit.

My only qualm has been too much mid bass. However, a couple things I think really help is the use of crossfeed and just a little bit of EQ. I pull down 150-200hz just a little and between this and the crossfeed I find it really helps.
