Well, I have a birthday friday (17

) and really don't know what to get. But I'm definitely looking for rock phones to give some liveliness to my music as opposed to my HD555. Of course, I can't look anywhere else except grado

. Im caught between the 225 and 325. I'm a bass head and really like aggressiveness and want something to make the most of the Millett I just built. Is the $95 worth it for the 325s? The 325s are in my budget so money isnt the factor, just looking for the best bang for buck. So 225 or 325? Or feel free to suggest something else.

Anywho, I definately prefer the 325i over the 225. Heck, just the build quality & coolness factor is worth the extra $100 (or less, check TTVJ

) The sound is also much better: more extension in both frequencies, a tad more soundstage, and the bass is more apparent.

I am a believer in excess.

I will tell you that my 225's left me wanting more. After hearing them I would gladly pay an extra $100 for the 325i's the upgrade bug had bitten. However the HF-1's appeared and I ended getting my upgrade and saving some dough.

The ultimate rock phone is the RS-2! Amazing slam!

The 225 is like the RS-2 without the bass and slam.

The 325i is another creature that makes my ears bleed from the harsh treble.

I have also heard good things about the RS-2 for rock.

What about a used RS-2? The typically go for $350-$400, not much more than a new 325i.

Todd's last 17 HF-1s are going on sale on Saturday, might want to go for them instead. I personally think all 17 are gonna be sold within the minute of the sale xD
