Billy Corgan's solo album - the Future Embrace - thoughts?

Heh, Corgan must be reading all the very poor reviews of his new album. He just took out a full-page ad in a Chicago newspaper (on the day of his new album's release), saying how much he wishes he could get the Smashing Pumpkins back together and how his heart hasn't been in music since they broke up!

Link? I can't find a reference to that statement. I did find this article in which the ad is discussed.

I'm really diggin' it.

I became a Smashing Pumpkins fan from "Adore" onward. Late to the party I know, but I loved "Adore" despite the criticism that was launched against it immediately after its release. "TheFutureEmbrace" definitely has an "Adore vibe" to it which is a positive for me. I wasn't too crazy about track [6] "DIA" or track [8] "I'm Ready," but I think that track [2] "Mina Loy (M.O.H.) may be my favorite Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan song of all time. "Too Love Somebody" is a great cover that sounds like the original should have sounded. [very Robert Smith influenced] In fact I hear The Cure, and to a lesser extent nine inch nails, running all through this album. I would recommend to anyone with interest in the above artists to give this disc a listen.

I just picked it up today. I was never a huge smashing Pumpkins fan but I really like this cd. The productions sounds very good and well thoughtout/implemented. I am also really enjoying Corgan's lyrics.

Very subjective, I guess, but IMHO "TheFutureEmbrace" is much better than Corgan's short-lived efforts with Zwan. I have listened to "TheFutureEmbrace" a couple of times this past weekend and I just keep liking it more and more.
