Hello All,

My poor aching heart! My Shure E3's that I purchased at the end of January this year have gone awry!

Firstly I noticed the volume dropping and dropping over a period of a few months-I noticed as the volume on my iPod kept creeping up and up. I know it's not my ears as I often use my iPod at home with my SR60's and have no issue at all.

The final straw was last week when all of a sudden the left bud lost almost all volume. Nothing happened to them, I was actually just sitting on the train. I did notice though that occasionally the volume would come back which may suggest a loose connection or something (?).

If anyone can help me I imagine you guys can...just for a bit of background, I bought them from a Store on eBay-I trawled and trawled to find the most reputable seller so I didn't just look for the cheapest (fake!) deal. This may affect the guarantee-I live in the UK and I purchased them from a US seller. I have contacted Shure UK but am yet to hear back from them. The E3's have not been abused or exposed to excess moisture etc. etc.

Any help is very gratefully appreciated. Thank you!

Volume dropping might mean they got dirty. Clean themn with the provided tool. But I'm affraid that doesn'tr explain the sudden volume drop out. Luckely, Shure got great customerservice.

Thank you...I'm not quite sure why I didn't just do that in the first place! Think it was just panic..lol..

I spoke to them and they said they would accept my paypal receipt as proof of purchase...they were generally very helpful. Will keep you updated!

Thanks again..

Like anadin said, call Shure directly. They should be covered by the warranty anyway. I live in the UK too and couldn't get a response via email, (re: disintegrating black foam tips), so I called and got some sent in the post. Great service once you get hold of them.

Shure have fantastic customer service (3755829 time I've said that). They didn't even need proof of purchase the second time I needed a replacement.

I've always contacted them via the phone which seems to be the best method.

Bravo to Shure ... I hope this works out for you. Shure's line really starts to shine at the levels above the E3 (I have the E3, too, and wish I had started with the E4), so if you like your E3's and appreciate Shure's service, start saving up now for a future Shure upgrade (or upgrade now, if you can ... either way, you'll have new Shures, and the Head-Fi syndrome seems to be setting in). Good listening on the train!
